The Quest

The Quest is your search for your true self. Not that which became, but that which was born. In a letter to his brother Theo, Vincent van Gogh called the true self the inner-child.

Contemplate the picture. Listen for whispers from your soul.

The setting sun warms your back and illuminates the compassionate moon. That lights your journey through your subconscious: the land of inner-dragons. You’ve realized that you cannot slay your inner-dragons, but only befriend and tamed them. You’re on the way to meet your inner-teacher holding the lamp of wisdom. That will illuminate your true self.

Gladden you heart. Lift your spirits. Nourish your soul.

The Forest, the subconscious, is like the forest of Macbeth's, Robin Hood's or somewhere in between depending on your karma or spiritual growth. Decide.

The Raven is the bird of Noah, Elijah, Poe, your inner-one and God's messenger. It is the keeper of the gate between your inner and outer worlds. The Raven gives sustenance, points the way. Eat. Heed.

The Inner-Dragons

Seven Deadly Sins: anger, avarice, envy, gluttony, lust, pride, sloth

Major Gloom-Dooms: aggression, anxiety, arrogance, blame, bias, depression, fear, generalization, guilt, hysteria, impatience, inadequacy, irrational, panic, paranoia, rudeness, shame, and vengeance

• Terrible Aitches: hauteur and hubris
